Kevin O'Connor began his public radio career in the 1980's at his University Station, BSU Radio  in Idaho.  A lifetime music and radio enthusiast, he began collecting records of all kinds while still a child in Oakland,California.  While most of his peers were listening to the Bee Gees and K.C and the Sunshine Band, Kevin was content to stay at home spinning Billie Holiday, Paul Desmond, Glenn Gould and Janis Joplin records in the company of his boisterous Irish uncles and father.

After a brief stint in Kansas, he found his way to the Twin Cities with his wife around 1994, landing at jazz 88 initially as a volunteer.  "I worked my way through the rank and file, filling in on virtually every shift and doing lots of other things nobody else seemed to want to do!"  Appointed music director in 1997, O'Connor has at last found his niche as a broadcaster.  You can find him on- air weekdays from 3-7pm on "The Afternoon Cruise,"  Also hosting "Just Good Music,"  (Wed. 7-11pm), and "Celtic Nation,"  (Sat. 5-7pm).
