Jazz88 presents a new project that explores the roots of American Music that intertwines both Jazz and Native American music styles at Hamline University's Sundin Music Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8.
A Weaving of Traditions, an evening of Native American music and interpretation, is created by Minnesota musician and jazz flutist Bobb Fantauzzo and his group JazZen. Accompanying the group will be Lyz Jaakola, who provides traditional Anishinaabe vocals and percussion. It is an eclectic mix of the traditional and the untraditional, the conventional and the unconventional, the past and the present.

Two Minnesota artists- Grammy Award winning jazz pianist Butch Thompson and celebrated choreographer Sarah LaRose-Holland- have collaborated to present Destination Twin Cities, an impressionistic, time-traveling exploration of neighborhoods, landmarks, people and places that define urban life in Minnesota. Destination Twin Cities features Butch Thompson and Sarah La-Rose Holland's dynamically engaging dance company Kinetic Evolutions in a new look at the area's history.
Performances are at The Lab Theater in the Minneapolis Warehouse District, Friday, June 14th 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 15th 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
